CEWE is looking for a Milling Foreman to join the team.

The Foreman is responsible for managing the direct day-to-day on-site supervision of the crew. The ability to demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills will be considered a valuable asset to this role. Must have civil construction experience and working knowledge of safe work practice. CEWE is looking for long terms candidates that will work steadily year-round.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and coordinating crew activities, and estimating work requirements for completion of job assignment

  • Promote crew morale, a team environment, quality and productivity of crew operations

  • Perform daily pre-trips and crew time entry with appropriate supporting documentation for job costing

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task

  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Adhere to Jack Cewe Construction Ltd Health & Safety Program and WorkSafe BC regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years milling experience

  • Have proficient knowledge of road and underground utility construction techniques

  • Have the ability to think the project from start to finish

  • Have a proficient knowledge of construction materials and supplies

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times;

  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and attributes.

  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary;

  • Be able to work overtime when required;

  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Ability to keep time and material records.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
