About Us

Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. (CEWE) is a privately owned, locally operated general contractor specializing in road building and civil construction. With over 70 years of experience in British Columbia, we provide comprehensive road construction services, including excavation, gravel placement, base and sub-base preparation, underground utility installation, concrete slabs, sidewalks, curbs, asphalt paving, and milling.

The Opportunity

CEWE is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. This role suits a results-driven professional dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, high-quality work while contributing to a value-based organization.

The ideal candidates will have strong proficiency in HeavyBid and a deep understanding of industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned heavy civil projects, including risk management, planning, and contingency execution

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, proactively managing expectations and resolving issues

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope and budget, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Develop and manage project schedules in collaboration with the project team to achieve key milestones

  • Lead, mento, and motivate project teams to meet performance objectives

  • Oversee procurement activities, including subcontractor, trade, and supplier negotiations and awards

Qualifications:

  • Market knowledge of Greater Vancouver and surrounding areas is a strong asset.

  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Estimating team, superintendents and field crews

  • Proficiency in HeavyBid, HeavyJob, and industry-specific software (MS Office, MMCD, MOTI).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and lead project teams in fast-paced environments

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to convey complex information effectively.

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience managing heavy civil construction projects, with accountability for schedule, cost, quality, and safety performance.
